Good news here, possibly 3,000 construction jobs could be created if Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. receives approval to construct a new gas pipeline, which will run from the NY/MA border, head north through Franklin and Worcester County, and end in Dracut MA. “TGP is looking to install a 36-inch line through Massachusetts to transport gas from traditional and developing supply regions, including the Marcellus and Utica shale deposits in the Northeast.”
Several towns have been notified and all seem receptive in seeing this project break ground and hopefully completed by 2018. I believe Pres. Obama mentioned a goal during his most recent SOTU about converting some of our vehicles to run on natural gas, so this project won’t be held up like Keystone XL and I doubt much resistance from anyone.
Keep fracking boys!

This poster has had a history of quoting things not matched by links, of citing as authorities people who turned out not to be authorities, and of misunderstanding statistical and quantitative reports. The reader is warned to take nothing literally that appears in the above without independent investigation.

Appears to be a slogan of the pedophile organization NAMBLA. The post should be removed.

The North American Marlon Brando Look Alikes?

Every time Jon Stewart would read some lengthy organization name, he’d follow it with “or NAMBLA.” It was a real thing, the North American Man-Boy Love Association. I will not link to it.

…where the real NAMBLA had infiltrated the town and they had tricked Cartmann into bringing the boys to a NAMBLA dance. The police and the FBI went in to bust them, but they hit the wrong meeting – they raided the North American Marlon Brando Look Alikes! Unfortynately, the video didn’t embed – here’s a link:

This seems outrageously unfair. Am I missing some sarcasm?

I think the comment is poking fun at the missing comma in the last line of the thread-starter.

In this case, there does seem to be some substance to at least the bare bones of the story:
– Boston Globe, November 5, 2013, “Utilities seek boost in region’s natural gas: Pipeline capacity jump could lower power costs” (emphasis mine):
– Daily Hampshire Gazette, January 29, 2014, “Tennessee Gas Pipeline plans project through Franklin County“:
– Worcester Telegram Gazette, January 30, 2014, “Major gas pipeline to make way through region“:
It appears that the contemplated project is real. I guess the fracking is ok with Massachusetts officials so long as it happens somewhere else.

Much obliged.

Whip out that pen, President Obama, and get this pipeline built. This is great news! More hard hats laying vital pipelines across America.

…and the final does not make that claim. Plus you can keep your pipeline out of my hometown of Dracut, thank you very much.

ABC headline “Obama Running out of Reasons to Reject Keystone XL”
NY Times headline “Report Opens Way to Approval for Oil Pipeline”.
If Obama rejects his own State Dept, his presidency will be effectively over. There is no turning back now, Obama put a market down on the project and it was met. In fact, i thought Dick Cheney wrote the report when I read the pipeline will lower carbon emmissions b/c the oil won’t be hauled by rail or trucks.
You shouldn’t have the NIMBY attitude about the gas pipeline, you will be helping out the entire region and a hell of a lot better than ugly turbines.

…or the “decider” as his predecessor put it. He can and should reject bad advise. As for NIMBY, I’ll take turbines in my town over a pipeline hands down. The other side often asks why do you hate America. I must ask you why do you hate the Earth?
danfromwaltham says
“The latest environmental review, the fifth released on the project since 2010 – acknowledges that development of tar sands in Alberta would create greenhouse gases, a State Department official said. But the report makes clear that other methods of transporting the oil – including rail, trucks and barges – would release more greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming than the pipeline.”
Brownsberger was right all along.

If you think it’s time to break out the shovels, this is not the Keystone decision that you think it is.
danfromwaltham says
Obama cannot go back on his word. Obama said he would approve Keystone “if it does not significantly exacerbate the problem of carbon”. It clearly does not, according to the State Dept.
You don’t want Obama to break another promise, do you?
Christopher says
Some promises are meant to be broken.
