I just read Mayor Walsh’s Inaugural Address and I think it’s a strong effort. Overall, I liked the tone and the effort to bring people together. I didn’t support Mayor Walsh in the race, as some of you may recall. Nevertheless, even with our challenges, I have high hopes for Boston’s future, and I wish the Mayor every possible success in moving the City forward. I hope that the media (and others) will refrain from criticizing Mayor Walsh for taking some time to get the pieces of his administration in place. These are important decisions–better to take the time and get them right. Congratulations on your inauguration, Mr. Mayor.

I really enjoyed the WBUR reports about the inaugural. The One Boston theme is nice, and Steve Sweeney is as local as you can get, as is Ellis Paul.
MAHTY! I’m down.
Also — I’m sorry Ayanna lost, but I think she did the right thing to run. As someone noted, Wu wasn’t the deciding vote, but 8-5 is a lot wider than 7-6. 7-6 gives someone else the chance to be the deciding vote, and might have made a difference.
But — moving on. Better to have Ayanna focused on what she does, not Council minutia.
