Satellite Images of California and Nevada, one year apart. Granted, this is a sample set of one, but it is consistent with what is expected under global Climate Change.
You do know it was 60 degrees in Denver on Sunday, why the Patriots lost but the Broncos cheerleaders looked oh-so-fine.
Show some pics of the Midwest and Northeast as the Polar Vortex settles in.
Just so we understand, Excessive snow = global warming, Lack of snow = global warming, warm temps = global warming, frigid temps = global warming. That logic is something Marshall Applewhite would whip up.
Mike, think about it. Applewhite said the earth was about to be recycled and spayed under, so he convinced people to follow him. Now we ate told by politicians and scientists (who receive financial benefit for their research like grants) that sea levels will rise 6 feet, that what Deval said. Congressional Districts will be under water, hurricanes and tornados and famine, etc. It’s the same doomsday crap, Mike. Don’t follow them, we know what happens to people who simply follow and nod to the leaders.
It beats me how someone with such rudimentary quantitative skills believes he can get away with pretending to talk intelligently about climate.

…your last paragraph is in fact EXACTLY right! Not to mention the matching excessive heat currently experienced by Australia.
I wish you would explain what denial has in it for you. At least I can understand the logic of those who stand have their business models impacted, but what’s your excuse?

Basic freedoms if our government puts in place a carbon tax, which will lower our middle class lifestyle. For instance, I’m forced to ride a bus b/c they want high oil prices, while other who push this scheme ride around in large vehicles and live in mansions. They want me to keep my house at 64 degrees in the dead of winter and live in a home the size of a birds nest, while they keep their jacuzzi nice and hot and have walk-in closets the size of my living room.
Sure , destroy the only sector that’s propping up this economy, the energy sector, and destroy and any manufacturing jobs left along with it. Someone on BMG suggested we pay coal miners not to work. Did you read that comment? Pay people not to work, can u believe that thinking? Pay people not to work. I can’t think of a quicker way to destroy ones pursuit of happiness than to pay people not to work. Don’t we have enuff people being paid not to work?

…though I distinctly recall a comment of yours where you said you weren’t that kind of person. I’ve even questioned the wisdom of raising gas taxes myself, but notice I can do that without denying that we have to find some solution. Meanwhile I would like to breathe and have the only planet we have survive. The trick is to redirect subsidies and create jobs in a renewed and vibrant clean energy sector and not cling to the proverbial buggy-whip industry. You need to expand your thinking way outside the box you are stuck in. BTW, I am not aware of any basic guaranteed freedom that you cite.

There’ve been two recent confessions of conservative intellectual dishonesty recently. Limbaugh in a Chris Christie-related rant described how he confidently defended Clarence Thomas against the Anita Hill charges even though he knew nothing about Thomas other than that Mr Thomas was a conservative. That sufficed as proof of moral character.
Similarly, Sen Coburn stated that he came to oppose all this climate change stuff not because of the evidence either way but because he hated the consequences that might ensue on climate science getting things right. So too here with our weak specimen of conservative “thinking”.
We get a big dose of resentment. (Conservatives specialize in it.) That is followed by concern about the economic impact. This is like someone refusing to accept she is a diabetic because she finds the treatment too inconvenient.
An imprudent decision, but also a decision to be stupid.
The year 2013 ties with 2003 as the fourth warmest year globally since records began in 1880. The annual global combined land and ocean surface temperature was 0.62°C (1.12°F) above the 20th century average of 13.9°C (57.0°F). This marks the 37th consecutive year (since 1976) that the yearly global temperature was above average. Currently, the warmest year on record is 2010, which was 0.66°C (1.19°F) above average. Including 2013, 9 of the 10 warmest years in the 134-year period of record have occurred in the 21st century. Only one year during the 20th century—1998—was warmer than 2013.

stop clouding this discussion with facts. It’s distracting and leads us away from highly important anecdotal nonsense.

The 2013 to 2014 difference is probably just as much noise as it is climate change. The effects of climate change are neither as steep or rapid as the two photos here would suggest.
That said, we do expect less snow cover on mountains and, hence, less water during the warmer 3 seasons as an overall trend.
