As the Democratic caucus process begins this weekend, I’ve decided I’ll be supporting a man I know well – Warren Tolman for Attorney General. I want to share some reasons why and urge you to join me. I believe he’s the best choice to be Attorney General for Massachusetts at a time when there is so much at stake. I’ve seen him stand up time and time again for the values I hold dear.
I’m with Warren because I know him as a leader. I’m proud to see him pledge to lead on an issue like reducing gun violence with an innovative proposal like finger trigger locks. I know his leadership promises results because I’ve seen it in the years he served in the legislature on progressive issues like environmental protection and early childhood education.
I’m with Warren because I know him as a fighter. I know when he promises to take on the fight to protect workers and students from bullying, and the fight for fair pay for women he’ll win those fights because I remember when he took the fight to the tobacco companies and won.
In my years working to advance Democratic progressive politics and the kinds of candidates who are committed to keeping Massachusetts on the forefront of these efforts, I’ve come to believe that our biggest advantage is a deep talent pool. That reality is truly on display this year with so many important races on the ballot in November. No race reflects that reality more than the race for Attorney General where our primary will feature three extremely talented candidates. The strength of the field makes the decision to pledge my support (and ex-officio delegate vote) to Warren Tolman all the more important to me.
I’ve chosen to support a candidate I know well. I hope you’ll join me. If you don’t know Warren Tolman yet, you should get to know him now. Contact his office at 617-744-8351, stop by the headquarters at 125 Walnut St, Suite 102 in Watertown, or sign up on his web site (http://warrentolman.com/caucus-for-warren/) to get involved with the campaign. When you talk to him, I think you’ll quickly find that Warren Tolman is the right choice for Attorney General.

…while John is free of the neutrality requirements of being Chairman, he now works for the Governor’s PAC. It’s probably a good idea to clarify whether or not this should at all be construed as speaking for the Governor.
