My understanding is that April 23 is generally the day accepted to be William Shakespeare’s birthday, because the only record is of his baptism on April 26th, and it is also St. George’s Day. So let the tin-foil hat conspiracy theories about Sir Francis Bacon and all that rubbish begin.
Please share widely!
…he wrote all those plays about all those silly people with crowns on their heads fighting over who should be next to wear them. Based on the other thread you posted no re-blooded patriotic real ‘Merican would ever appreciate such kiss-up literature:)

I don’t know to whom you think you are confusing me with, but I am like probably the most dyed-in-the-wool anglophile to post on this site. I am constantly making references to:
1) Monty Python
2) Doctor Who
3) Happy Birthday to the Queen
4) Black Adder
5) Marriage Equality in Scotland
6) John Barrowman
Bloody Hell, the Queen’s birthday wish was just this Monday, 3 bloody days ago.
What the splonge do I look like: Dan From Dorchester?
Yes, you posted about the Queen’s birthday, and you may have noticed all of BMG’s anti-royal sentiment came out in the comments on that thread. I was playfully mocking that attitude, but not directed at you.
July 20th is the simulcast of the Monty Python show. I am thinking about coordinating a group at one of the participating theater, if you are interested.
…but I never really got into Monty Python.
I am shocked.
Anyone care to explain (or link to) this conspiracy? I’ve never heard of it before
The Earl of Oxford has been the subject of speculation that he wrote plays and poems attributed to Shakespeare. Maybe Bacon is another suspect in this regard, but I’m less familiar with that theory.
So that’s gotta be wrong
As he has never had an independant thought.
He even wears the same clothes to work as Scalia. Like, every day.
If I could upvote more than once, I would.
But it’s crap, based on snobbery.
