Signatures are just about over and it’s still more than a month until the Convention. But there is a big occasion in between, the Roosevelt Awards event! As is my custom, I will have a “virtual table” at the fundraiser. I’m trying to raise $2500 by selling ten tickets. Although it is no longer a seated dinner, the people who are part of my virtual table are part of a group that is a kind of home base for the evening. For a couple of weeks, a number of people contacted me because they did not receive the weekly Dispatch. It is unclear what is causing the problem. Matt and I have sent out the Dispatch faithfully every week for many years. If we stop sending it or need to take a break, we will give you advance warning to our subscribers. If for whatever reason, you are a subscriber and do not receive the Dispatch, you can read it online. If anyone has experience with e-mails getting blocked in groups like this please comment. I’d really like to get this problem resolved.
I find it interesting that I created the Dispatch so that activists could find events. It’s actually the candidates who really value it.
The Dispatch started in spring of 2000 as an e-mail list for the core group in our fledgling regional Dems group. It has transtioned dramatically over the years and we are now evaluating a new phase. Matt and I are looking to improve the technical infrastrucure and move to a more reilable distribution system. We are also looking for a few people to help this effort, either with technical areas, with helping to grow readership and with inputting events. We need people who might be willing to help us upgrade the infrastructure as well as people who might help with the ongoing production of the Dispatch.
