I’m excited to share with BMG readers an important endorsement for Mike Lake and his candidacy for Lieutenant Governor. Mike has been endorsed by NOW, the National Organization for Women.
Donna Denoncourt and Nancy Rosenblum, Mass NOW PAC Co-Chairs said, “There is no other candidate in the field who exemplifies equality and social progress more than Mike Lake. NOW is pleased to lend our support to Mike Lake, Democratic candidate for Lt. Governor and we are confident that the people of Massachusetts will have an advocate in him.”
I’ve blogged in the past about my support of Mike Lake. As we move closer to the primary, people are beginning to look more closely at the down ballot races.
As I have been helping Mike’s campaign, I’ve been struck by the fact that Mike’s supporters come from all over the political and geographic spectrum.
We have endorsers who are emerging leaders in the Party including Senator Linda Dorcena Forry, Councilor Tito Jackson of Boston and Councilor Sarai Rivera of Worcester.
Senator Sonia Chang Diaz along with Senator Katie O’Connor Ives have both endorsed, showing support across a broad range of political views.
The campaign has newly elected municipal leaders including Fall River Councillor Paul DaSilva and Revere Councillor Steve Morabitio. Veteran legislators Representative Gloria Fox and Representative Cleon Turner are also supporting Mike Lake.
Endorsers show geographic diversity with Ray Jordan of Springfield, Rep. Jerry Parisella of Beverly and Rep. Christine Canavan of Brockton and many more in between.
Governor Michael and Kitty Dukakis were among Mike’s earliest endorsers. Like so many people here in the Commonwealth, I have high respect for Governor Dukakis and his opinion means a great deal to me and to to others.
Folks have a chance to “Meet the Mikes.” Both Mike Lake and Governor Mike Dukakis will be in Peabody on Monday, August 25, 6 – 7:30 PM. Stop by to see them at Treadwell’s Ice Cream, 46 Margin Street.
I’ll close by reminding people that the deadline for registering to vote is this coming Wednesday, August 20. Most City and Town Halls are open until 8 PM on Wednesday. Take a minute or two to think about who in your circle might need to register to vote? Do you have a young friend or relative who will be 18 on or before September 9? Have some new folks moved into your neighborhood? Do you have new co-workers? Maybe there is someone who previously has not seen the need to vote, but has been concerned about some of the recent supreme court decisions? дебетовые карты с бесплатным обслуживанием

liked to think someone would have endorsed him by now. It’s pretty late in the game.

Mike Lake is someone who can bridge divides across this state as he done throughout his career. He is committed to our Gateway Cities, to smart growth and sustainable urban planning, to integrating immigrant communities into Massachusetts, a longtime fighter for women’s and gay rights. The kind of leadership we need!
