The Koch-funded ‘The EDvantage’ group is using extracted clips from popular film and TV as examples for its libertarian and right-wing lesson plans. This has been written up at the Center for Public Integrity:

The extracted clips are directly posted within the Edvantage site with Edvantage lesson plans and commentary. This is totally different than referencing the clips on outside, separate platforms like YouTube, and then having your lesson plans and commentary on your own site.

Wondering if legal folks with experience in entertainment or intellectual property rights might be inclined to:
1-contact some of the producers of items listed below; and
2-make them aware of ‘TheEdvantage’ using these works without getting permission or fees, and for distinct political goals.
A partial list of shows and movies linked to the lesson plans from the Edvantage Curriculum resources list includes:
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Ghost Busters
Hunger Games
It’s A Wonderful Life ( I guess they don’t see the irony in this reference)
Jersey Shore
Lord of the Flies
Macklemore
Monty Python
Seinfeld
The Bourne Identity
The Dark Knight

May I see your passport, please
…how you know that proper rights to use the clips were NOT obtained?
Because Hollywood studios would NEVER engage in political activity?
