POTUS was awesome tonight laying out his economic, populist agenda for the middle class. And I was so proud of my friend, Congresswoman Katherine Clark. You couldn’t miss her in her hot pink outfit !
I can hear puke heads exploding everywhere. How do we stop this guy !!!!!!

There were so many moments that made me think, “You have to at least pretend you’re for this!”

This was a real barn-burner.
I only hope that (a) Mr. Obama and his staff follow through and (b) our Democrats in congress stay united to make these things happen.
As Mr. Obama observed, we may quibble and debate about aspects of this agenda. We can still do great things in the next two years by advancing whatever common ground we may find and by resolutely stopping any efforts to advance boneheaded and self-destructive congressional actions from either party (at the top of my list is the suicidal effort to impose additional sanctions on Iran).

Nora O’Donnell and Gail King had a good grilling of Majority Leader McCarthy on CBS This Morning. At one point he lauded divided government as the place where great compromises can occur, positively citing Gingrich and Clinton (a talking point we are sure to hear until 2016 when it hurts them), and Tip and the Gipper. But he then said that ‘veto threats are not productive, up to 17 veto threats’, and Gail hit him back with ‘well, aren’t you guys starting with controversial stuff like Keystone?’ And then Nora added ‘wouldn’t the vetoes be the President’s way of putting the ball back in your court to compromise?’
He had little to say after that.
Also best line of the speech:
‘I won both of them’
