In a recent Commonwealth magazine article on Representative Katherine Clark,

author Shawn Zeller notes the following:
“[Rep. Katherine Clark is] part of a new generation in Democratic Party politics,” says Peter Ubertaccio, a political science professor at Stonehill College. “Massachusetts has a reputation for having a hard-charging partisan liberal political culture. But she is really trying to work across the aisle, and to do that you are going to start with smaller, more pragmatic bills.”
Minor correction – Clark is working in the best tradition of both Ted Kennedy and Barney Frank, who managed to be hard-charging advocates of liberal ideals and successful shepherds of some of the most important bipartisan legislation of their generations.

A: To get to the other side.
Seriously, where’s the beef, the meat, the substance in the Commonwealth piece?

A substantial amount of work to combat domestic violence, crack down on cyberbullying which has gained national attention, provide service animals to women recovering from domestic violence and securing funding for that to be covered under Medicare, and that’s just three big initiatives mentioned in the piece. She has also become a trusted lieutenant of Hoyer and Pelosi alike. Showing just because you are in the minority, doesn’t mean you can’t get shit done for Massachusetts and the 5th District.
