With yesterday’s announcement that supporters of the Iran Peace Deal have the 34 votes in the Senate needed to sustain the President’s announced veto of the Republican opposition resolution the vote in the House becomes moot.
Nonetheless, the House majority just announced today they will take up the issue next week after Labor Day BEFORE the Senate begins debate the following week. Leader Pelosi, who supports the deal, urged members of the Democratic Caucus to publicly state their positions on the issue NOW in advance of the House action.
All 11 members of the Massachusetts Congressional delegation support the Peace Deal except :

momentum for peace keeps growing as it was just announced that Sen.Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Sen.Mark Warner (D-VA)both support the deal. That brings us to 36 just 5 short of the 41 votes needed to stop the opponents resolution.

Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) voiced support for the Iran deal today while Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) voiced opposition. That leaves 4 votes shy.

Rep. Mike Capuano voiced support for the Iran agreement on todays OTR. That leaves 2 members undecided – Neal and Keating.

The Munich agreement gave Hitler land without consulting its inhabitants in exchange for his pinky-swear that we wouldn’t try to take anything else. The Iran agreement is actually enforceable.
If you are among those who think we could have had a “better deal” please explain exactly what that would be that Iran AND the other parties might actually agree to, preferably without falling back on the Lindsay Graham excuse that we could beat them in a war anyway.
