He introduced his 30 member cabinet fulfilling a campaign promise by naming 15 women. When asked why he appointed so many women, he responded : ” It’s 2015.”

Will Trudeau withdraw Canadian jets from Afghanistan?
I’m not entirely sure where he’s going with that train of thought. Obama signaled years ago he wanted to withdraw from ground engagement in Afghanistan and Iraq, and that policy has backfired to the point that his Defense Department is quietly moving assets back in.
Sounds a bit out of touch to me for the new Canadian PM to go against the grain of Obama’s wisdom on this.
Many of those women are “ministers of state” who are not cabinet members on the same level as the men in his cabinet — they report to someone other than the prime minister, and are paid less. A snarky affirmation that I’m privileged to live in his world — like father, like son.
