The makings are all there now for a Cruz-Kasich ticket on the Republican side. Who would have predicted this last year? Speaking of predictions, regarding the Orange One (sorry Netherlands), we had better hope that he runs a vanity independent campaign: Cruz could mute his legendary ‘winning personality’ and extreme ideas and put nice-guy Kasich out front, and steal the election in what should have originally been a Republican return based on history.

H.L. Mencken said it best : ” The demagogue is one who preaches doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots.”
I honestly don’t know whether to laugh or cry when I listen to these fools.

Cruz is crazier than Trump!

Mr. Kasich is just as crazy, he just wears a thicker coat of Vaseline.

…but I would argue not crazy. He actually knows how to govern and I think gives a hoot about his people.

Mr. Kasich is older, more appealing to swing state voters, whiter, and more well liked among the GOP. If they are to run together, I can’t imagine Kasich will be the veep. Plus, it will be far easier for Mr. Cruz to pivot VP to POTUS in eight years; Kasich won’t have it in him then. Mr. Cruz has enough youth to be patient whereas Mr. Kasich will be 72 in eight years.
If they mind meld, look for Kasich – Cruz, not Cruz – Kasich.

I’ve been a little disappointed to see all the downrates on my cynical but reality based musings on the Republican race from my friend Fred, so I’ll make him an offer he can’t refuse:
Lobstah Dinnah on me if any of the following happen:
a) Cruz or Kasich are on the ticket
b) Any Republican other than Donald wins the nomination
It’s on you if they don’t happen, willing to take the bet?
fredrichlariccia says
I’ll bet a lobsta dinna to ANYONE that Hillary will be the Democratic nominee and Il Douche will be the Republican nominee.
I’ll bet a second lobsta dinna that Hillary will beat Il Douche in the general election.
Now, any takers on that ? 🙂
P.S. And to my friend,James, please know it’s nothing personal but politics is hard ball not bean bag so fasten your seat belt cause you ain’t seen nothing yet 🙂
