As an American and Gold Star family member who lost my best friend who was my brother, Peter, in Vietnam — Trump’s outrageous disrespect toward Captain Kahn’s parents was despicable.
My brother, U.S. Army Lt. Peter B. Rich, was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for Valor after he was Killed In Action on September 15, 1968 at the age of 23.
Shame on you, Trump, for trivializing his sacrifice and that of all of our brave soldiers and veterans who suffered wounds in battle and heroically gave ‘the last full measure of their devotion’ to our beloved country.
God have mercy on your cold, dead soul for I can not. God forgive me. I can not.
