We had two major party candidates running for the office of the president.

 

Both candidates have daughters who married a guy whose parents were friends of their parents, presumably how each couple met.

 

And in both cases, the guy they married had a father who was convicted of a felony and spent time in a federal prison.

 

Two people running for the office of the presidency, both friendly with a family where daddy is a convicted felon and their daughter marries the son.

 

What are the odds of that happening?

  2. I keep reading that it is sinister that Sessions has the middle name ‘Jefferson’ which is a dog whistle indicator of his racism.

    But unless he sat up at birth and demanded to be named for a Confederate icon, isn’t that a sin of the father (namely his )

    • His name is “Jefferson Beauregard Sessions”. His middle name is “Beauregard”.

      I’m sorry to sound picky, I’m just trying to understand whether or not you’re joking and what you’re referring to.

      It’s no sin to be named Jefferson. There was a Thomas worthy of the name.

      The sin of the father might have been wishing an all too white past could be worth of emulation and made into a future. From where I sit, the son and the father appear to share that sin.
