So when Donald Trump sits down with the New York Times, he is suddenly civilized, opposing waterboarding and white supremacists.
I will believe this only after he talks respect for minorities into the face of the white supremacists, and when he says to the face of those who don’t understand that employing torture- i.e., water boarding “and much more” – will do nothing but put our own soldiers in jeopardy the same so that they hear this unequivocally and directly from Trump himself.

It’s as believable as the Trump that was going to build the wall, loved war, and was going to deport millions. It’s as believable as the Trump who has no problem with divorce, including his own, or abortion, or Democrats.
We can’t ascribe an ideology, much less a governing philosophy to Trump. He adopts the beliefs of the people in the room, and bases his announcements on the last person between him and microphone. However, the Republican cabal is smart enough to know this, and make sure they are that person. Trump’s ideology will be that of the persons closest to him.
