I’d vote for whoever did the most to help elect Democrats this year. Which judging from my emails is Marty Walsh but I’m sure there are electeds/activists who don’t have me on their email lists. But my first take on it is I hope Marty Walsh runs, and I hope he gets it. And I hope those people (elected officials especially) who didn’t do their best to keep Donald Trump out of office don’t go after this just for the prestige. I’m not naming any names (yet), but y’all know who you are.

The one person I know for sure is running is longtime DSC member Russ Ashton, who is active among seniors and persons of color (two descriptions which apply to him as well). He ran for the seat earlier this year during regular reorganization. I’ve heard of possible interest from another DSC member – I believe last name of Feeney – who is described as a Sanders loyalist. Personally, I’d prefer this not be a proxy fight to relitigate the primary or try to pit wings of the party against each other.
