Here’s a Frame for Republican Friends

The EU rescued Europe from itself and has provided capitalist prosperity and peace for 65 years after the very same kind of resentments, racism, and anti-elitism as today caused a complete catastrophe.

Europe voting for nationalist and racist parties is a bad thing for America. From 1941-1945, we Americans paid the price for the ascedency of these same movements, and then spent billions more American dollars on the Marshall Plan.

There is now an international struggle developing, with free and real elections, a free press, science, and liberal constitutional democracy with limited powers for presidents on one side; and authoritarian police states with fake elections, a fake press friendly to the head politician and savior-leader, on the other side.

In the United States of America, our forefathers gave their lives in World War II to defend liberal democracy. Which side are you on?

    But hey, it’s a free country so have at it if you think you can bring them out of the darkness into the light.

    • Many of the Democratic votes coming out of southern state are the people you confess to dislike, voting Democratic because they’ve done that their whole life. Tribalism cuts both ways.

      Not sure yelling at the wind is the best way to survive a hurricane.

  4. Yup, this is a true statement. Never thought I’d see the day, and here we are. The Leader of the Free World is VISITING the USA.

    On Germany, heath care is a citizen’s right. In Germany, workers have the right to participate in management of the companies they work for. (Known as Mitbestimmung). In Germany, by percentage, far fewer of their citizens are in prison.

    Wow, hard to admit it. But it’s true. We are no longer the leader of the free world and to my mind, been on this path for many years.

        I’m 62 and did not think I’d live long enough to see it, but looks like I did.

        What Merkel thinks is not the point, nor is what Trump thinks. She is the leader of the free world.
