That’s how our new DNC Chair Tom Perez described it.
So what do you think ?
Personally, I found it to be more performance than pivot but we’ll know soon enough.
I still think the Imposter is all sizzle and no fat.

is quite stunning even for a cynical veteran of political wars like me.

As much as I try to avoid political chatter at work, two Trump supporters who know my politics asked me what I thought.
I replied, “He seemed to be less impulsive, more controlled, but of course, what bothers me were the numerous exaggerations, distortions and the lies.”
To which they replied, “Did you fact check any Obama speeches? Don’t you know they all lie!?”
Which tells me that this speech has not moved the needle one way or the other.
I haven’t looked it up, but it’s a pretty safe bet that he does much better on that score.
What’s most striking about the speech was the media’s reaction to it. You would’ve thought the Trump was a new man. Endlessly repeated was the question, “which is the real Donald Trump?” This is absurd on its face. The real Donald Trump reveals himself constantly on Twitter. We know who the real Donald Trump is. The Donald Trump of the other night was reading a Teleprompter. End of story.
WAS he reading a teleprompter?
Obama’s teleprompter assumed mythic status because he used it so badly and obviously. But I was surprised how extemporaneous his delivery seemed. I know he is used to delivering proposalso, but he didn’t seem to look at notes or use a teleprompter, and that was a long speech.
If anyone here actually watched it live, what was your impression?
…that addresses to Congress always use a teleprompter, though there was the one time Clinton had to wing it because someone loaded the wrong speech.
but said Clinton never missed a beat because he had committed the speech to memory — as in photographic memory. The man was brilliant.

“The media response to this speech is reminiscent of a parent praising a child for defecating in the toilet for the first time.”
