Well, surely the problem is obvious.
We Democrats are obviously too wedded to Wall Street. If only we had rejected corrupt attempts to court big-money donors, refused contributions from evil Wall Street corporatists, and instead relied on donations from the the hundreds of millions of beleaguered working-class men and women sweating blood for $9/hour, we’d be on top in this race.
We have the moral high-ground, so who cares about mundane things like money.

I do think “frontrunner money” is part of the difference, and a lot of Wall Street money is, for lack of a better word, an investment. In other words, they have more money because they have all the power right now.
