Kid Rock has also said he will not run for Senate, using rather colorful language. Flake was being challenged from his right so said challenger is now the likely nominee. I’d say this is an excellent chance for a Dem pickup.

I wouldn’t be so sure. Arizona is a pretty conservative state, and it’s likely going to be harder for the Democrat now. Removing the unpopular Flake opens up to the door to a more electable conservative than Kelli Ward to win the primary.
Tom Edsall also has sobering news on how poorly the party is still doing with independents:
n an October 15-16 Economist/YouGov survey, Democratic voters said they planned to vote for Democratic House candidates 88-3 and Republicans said they would vote for Republican House candidates 86-3. Independents favored Republican candidates 27-22. These are not the kind of numbers Democrats need to win control of the House or Senate.
Arizona has more registered Republicans and independents than registered Democrats. It’ll be a steep climb now Flake staying in and fighting the good fight would’ve sucked up a lot of resources from the RSCC which would’ve endorsed him, and now frees up both the establishment and Bannon wings to concentrate on other races.

This guy wants “limited government and free markets”, and he’s got that with Trump – that’s what Trump wants – unlimited power of the wealthy class, an oligarchy.. What am I missing?

Unsurprisingly, Flake and Corker were able to put aside their differences with the Trump administration long enough to vote yesterday to kill consumer protections and protect big banks.
Also, Corker got to the Senate by running that “Harold Ford is cavorting with white women” ad.
