I haven’t found a campaign website yet, but it’s being widely reported today that Boston City Councilor Josh Zakim has announced his candidacy for Secretary of the Commonwealth. One Brian Felder had also indicated he was running, but his website does not appear to have been updated since the summer so I don’t know what the status of that candidacy is. Neither appears to have filed with OCPF yet.
Please share widely!

This is good. The more the merrier!

Zakim is my city councilor and a fairly progressive and responsive one. Galvin is neither progressive nor responsive-so I welcome this challenge. I think more of our younger leaders should follow these examples rather than waiting for incumbents to die or retire. It will only strengthen our bench.

The irony is that the lack of rank choice voting might prevent us from getting a candidate supporting ranked choice voting, because multiple challengers would split the vote. Unfortunately due to the lack of RCV, more is not merrier.
