Senators Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker tried their hands at connecting politics to faith-based themes. It’s about time and we need this now more than ever. In an age when the Religious Right has completely sacrificed whatever was left of their principles on the altar of their idol Donald Trump, there is a political vacuum I think which can be filled by reaching out to those for whom an honest faith is still important. After all, so much of Biblical teaching, particularly that of Jesus Himself, is by definition progressive.
