I’ve seen more stories about his letter to Clinton than about the Gulf War. This is where we are now.

Almost no mention of his role in betraying America by selling weapons to Iran in exchange for their release of American hostages. No mention of the other dark acts of the CIA during his brief time as its head, nor of his complicity in the evil committed by the CIA during his time in office.
We will never know the true extent of how Ronald Reagan and his minions betrayed America during the fall of 1980, in no small part because of Mr. Bush’s successful effort to end the investigation.
I fear it foretells how today’s GOP will suppress the truth about the pervasive corruption of Donald Trump and the GOP Collaborators who keep him — and them — in power.

It was particularly sad to see his legacy celebrated on World’s AIDS Day and receive two effusive articles in the NYTimes written by gay men, both without a mention of Bush’s awful record during the AIDS crisis of the 80s-90s.

Right, because the week following a death is exactly the wrong time to criticize. This is a time to celebrate one’s life, not denigrate it.

Um, was there supposed to see a link or embed, something of substance with this? The only war to speak of he “launched” was Desert Storm, but that was entirely appropriate. When one country blatantly marches across its borders to annex a neighbor, getting together a coalition to come to that neighbor’s defense and kick out the invader is exactly what needs to be done.

I thought the thread-starter was referring to the flagrantly illegal Contra war.
Christophersays
That would have been Reagan.

Fine. Lionize George H.W. Bush. But be careful about lionizing him for launching a war.
Someone is listening.
If we’re lucky, whomever is listening knows that lions have sharp teeth and large claws…
