A few weeks ago, I posted a diary motivated by an alleged attack on a celebrity by perpetrators were reported to have said “this is MAGA country”.
According to breaking news just published on CNN, the entire episode was staged by that celebrity (emphasis mine):
Two law enforcement sources with knowledge of the investigation tell CNN that Chicago Police believe actor Jussie Smollet paid two men to orchestrate an assault on him that he reported late last month.
The men, who are brothers, were arrested Wednesday but released without charges Friday after Chicago police cited the discovery of “new evidence.”
The sources told CNN the two men are now cooperating fully with law enforcement.
So this stupid celebrity allegedly paid two men, one of whom apparently appeared on the show earlier, to orchestrate an attack on him.
If this is true, I think Mr. Smollet should face criminal charges.
In the original diary, edgarthearmenian immediately commented that we should wait until we have all the facts. I responded harshly to that comment. I was wrong.
I apologize to edgarthearmenian for my rush to judgement — he was right and I was wrong.
