This year marks the 59th anniversary of civic activism that I began in 1960 under the tutelage of my late brother and best friend, Peter, when we campaigned together for John F. Kennedy. I have since come to realize that all politics are not only local but personal. What the three candidates I support this cycle have in common is their shared conviction of independence and good government; they are all first time challengers for elective office with clear policy objectives. I encourage all progressive activists to get involved in their local town elections to build a strong bench for the future. JFK said : “to govern is to choose” so here are my choices for Town Election Day…
