Just days before the 2016 presidential election the New York Times on October 29 splattered three anti-Clinton hit pieces all over their front page :
- New Emails Jolt Clinton Campaign in Race’s Last Days
- Decision Pulls F.B.I.’s Leader Back Down Into Political Fray
- With 11 Days to Go, Trump Says Revelation “Changes Everything”
Yesterday, buried on page A16, — nearly THREE YEARS to the day from their original hit piece — their cowardly sheepish ‘apology’ came : “Quiet Ending for Inquiry in Emails and Server” I quote (emphasis mine) : “A yearlong State Department investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server found that while the use of the system for official business increased the risk of compromising classified information, THERE WAS NO SYSTEMIC OR DELIBERATE MISHANDLING OF CLASSIFIED INFORMATION.”
There is no defensible justification for how these stories were played.
Hillary Clinton has proven her integrity and patriotism as there was — and is today — a ‘vast right-wing conspiracy’ out to destroy the truth and our democracy.
Was there supposed to be something for lines 4, 6, & 8?
Could we please add to this that the banana Republicans in the White House are using private servers NOW?
‘President’ Banana
Ivanka
Pence
Etc.
Etc.
Etc.
They are doing the exact same thing to Biden over Hunter and to a lesser extent, Warren over the Native American heritage issue. I stand by my criticism of Warren’s DNA rollout and Hunter’s conflict of interest in Ukraine-but no laws were broken and these controversies are nowhere near the order of magnitude of Donald Trump’s. The false equivalency has to stop.
See Jeffrey Toobin’s comments today.
“That every time we said something, pointed out something about Donald Trump — whether it was his business interests, or grab ’em by the p—y, we felt like, ‘Oh, we gotta, like, talk about — we gotta say something bad about Hillary.’ And I think it led to a sense of false equivalence that was misleading, and I regret my role in doing that.”
