Some people are saying that progressives put far too much stock in relying on Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
I look at it a different way. Her passing abruptly crystallized the issue before the country:
…the terrifying vulnerability of everyone who is not a straight white bigoted person, to a rapidly emerging wild, racist, far-right government that is about to complete its slow-motion coup.
So it’s not that she was single-handedly saving us, it’s that her passing helped us realize that we’d damned well better do everything in our power – now – to save ourselves from a fate in which we will truly be at their mercy, with all safeguards gone.
We should each be giving five times more time, money, and attention to this than we are.
