Have I missed it, or is it really true that nobody has bothered to asked these three what they think about Mitch McConnell’s transparent power grab. It’s a power grab that does not work without someone being unprincipled enough to accept the nomination. Do any of the three think that 10 months is not enough time to confirm a nominee, while six weeks is plenty of time?
The Republican Senators have already had their handlers write their answers for them. But judges are supposed to be different.
Judges are supposed put aside personal considerations, and what the party wants them to do and to look at the law, logic and common sense. Nominees are always the first ones to tell us that.
Well here’s their chance. Let them announce, if they have any decency at all, that while they would like to be on the Supreme Court, that they don’t think that a lame duck, last minute appointment is good for the country. If they can’t do that, can they affirm that six weeks is a much shorter period of time than 10 months, or do they need permission from McConnell and Trump before they even do that?
Who’s going to ask these three? What is everyone waiting for?
