As a 20 year Toyota owner, I just confirmed with them that they will no longer financially support candidates ( i.e. Trumpist Republicans ) who don’t support election certification.
I told them if they hadn’t done the right thing to support our democracy, I was prepared to sell my car and never patronize them again.
Money talks and BS walks. Call them today (800-331-4331) to hear the LION ROAR !

My first job out of college was selling Toyotas. I’ve been loyal to them ever since. I spent over twenty years selling their forklift trucks. Did you know that Toyota was the number one manufacturer of forklifts and their US manufacturing plant in Indiana exports to other countries? While I never worked for them directly, I knew many of their upper level executives and I was pleased at how they look after their workers and their communities. I was not pleased to see how they continued to support insurrectionists but I will now give them the benefit of the doubt and see that they have learned the error of their ways….and I am happy that the system works!

Looking forward to getting another Corolla or a Camry when my current Corolla dies (which my mechanic says has another 100k to go). I sunk a ton of money on our old Buick and I was happy to donate it during the pandemic. We are looking at Toyota, Honda, or maybe Mazda for the next car. I will not buy “American” again, although it’s livelier my “Japanese” car has more American labor and components than anything out of “Detroit” these days.

I was very happy with Camry station wagon that my then-wife and I bought while our three children were young.
I’ve had a very good experience with my three generations of Chrysler Town and Country minivan (1999, 2001, and 2015) since then.
I’m not quite ready to make a $30K+ 10+year purchase decision based on national politics. I’ve worked for Sony (in the late 1970s though) and I’ve done business with a variety of Japanese and European companies. I’m not convinced that Japanese attention to their workers goes much deeper than press releases and picket lines.
I certainly agree that US manufacturing company management has had a repulsive attitude towards workers in pretty much every US company I’ve done business with.
I find that German, Austrian, Swiss, and UK firms have been, if anything, more sincerely committed to the “triple-bottom line” than the Japanese firms I’ve known.
In order to preserve domestic tranquility, there’s an excellent chance that our next vehicle will be a Mercedes 🙂

My best experiences have been with those models, and since I buy used I’m not likely to be directly financing Toyota.
