Democrats need to put down the insurrection. Right. Now.
The world is full of people that have bizarre and offensive beliefs, and I long since learned to ignore them.
The issue at the moment is that these insurrectionists and liars are waging war against the very existence of America as it has been since its founding.
In my opinion, Democrats have spent far too much time, energy, and airspace branding the GOP as traitors as liars — and far too little time doing ANYTHING to stop the insurrection they are leading.
At what point do we realize that everybody already knows that these people are insurrectionists, liars, frauds, and con artists — and NOBODY CARES?
Democrats had the naive belief that once voters knew that Donald Trump bragged about grabbing a woman by her private parts, it would be the end of his political career. It wasn’t. Democrats had the naive belief that once voters knew that Donald Trump had a criminal telephone conversation with a Ukrainian government leader, it would be the end of his presidency. It wasn’t. Democrats believed that once voters saw that Donald Trump’s movement attacked and ransacked the U.S. Capitol, it would be the end of his movement. It wasn’t.
It is time for Democrats to STOP this nonsense. Democrats need to ENFORCE THE RULE OF LAW.
If the DoJ isn’t aggressively pursing the criminal behavior of the prior administration, then Democrats need to have Merrick Garland and the DoJ on the hot seat. Democrats already HAVE the ability to put Steve Bannon in jail right now, using their inherent powers of contempt. Instead they’re dilly-dallying with long drawn-out processes that everybody knows have no practical effect at all.
If Steve Bannon was taken in cuffs and chains and perp-walked to a cold, dark, cell — perhaps something along the lines of where Chelsea Manning was held for years — then other witnesses might start paying more attention to a congressional subpoena.
If Mr. Bannon were losing — just to pick a number at random — $50,000 per day for each day he refused to testify, then perhaps his behavior might change.
Any witness that ignores a congressional subpoena should spend every day in jail and should face imminent financial ruin.
We’ve wasted enough time with branding. It’s time for substance.

We’re watching a slow motion coup that began five years ago and continues today. Yes, Biden is in the White House and we have slight control of the house and senate, but we are lulled by the calm present in the eye of a hurricane.
