The angst over prosecuting Trump for the January 6, 2021 insurrection is well-founded.
This Washington Post piece is the best analysis of the difficulty of prosecuting Trump for the insurrection that I have yet seen.
But no one, no one, has suggested that it would be difficult to prosecute him for the meticulously documented obstruction of justice he committed during the Mueller probe. Why is no one talking about this?
I think it is because AG Garland has a dangerously broad view of executive privilege while presidents are in office. I hope I am wrong. Don’t try to prosecute a hopeless legal case, Attorney General. Take the bread lying right in front of you on the table.
Presidents are not – and cannot be – above the law in a democracy.

Even on the 1/6 stuff every single current/former US Attorney on various MSNBC shows has said they are not at all surprised he has not gotten to the bigger fish yet. As for Mueller, I remain frustrated that his report seems to have gotten shoved in a drawer. To be honest, what he uncovered seems more obviously impeachable than an ill-advised phone call with the Ukrainian President.
