There is something horribly wrong when humanity can’t stop a deranged monster from murdering innocents.
This is a defining spiritual moment for the world. Politics as usual won’t solve this problem. Tonight, I pray that God gives our beloved President Biden a clear voice to unite the conscience of democratic humanity against this cursed fascist evil.

Both major parties have an abysmal record when it comes to standing up for what is right. Tigray/Ethiopia, China/Tibet, Russia/Crimea, Vietnam, Haiti ,,,
I would like to see our foreign policy handled by the Senate with a 60 vote minimum needed to define our alliances and long term goals. If it’s necessary for our soft society to make sacrifices with higher gas prices or doing without something because it’s made in a country like Russia so be it.

The last thing I want to do right now is require 60 votes for anything. That has proven a recipe for inertia. As it is treaties require 2/3.

At the moment, the GOP turns handsprings to avoid criticizing Donald Trump’s repeated support, admiration, and affection for Vladimir Putin.
Leaving aside the reality that any treaty already requires a 2/3 majority approval in the Senate (and so your proposed 60 vote threshold relaxes the constraint), how do you see today’s GOP senators contributing anything positive to the current situation?
So long as the GOP policy is “We oppose every action by any Democratic President”, how do you see your second paragraph working at all?

Our foreign policy shouldn’t be dictated by the executive branch. executive actions(blockading Cuba, Marines in Beruit) or inactions (like Rwanda) have been historically spur of the moment. Some people and areas of the world don’t want or can’t handle democracy. We should define our goals and bolster allies, but stay out of it. So far Biden is doing a good job of that.
We shouldn’t have tried to fix Afghanistan. We should have told the Taliban if they don’t turn over Bin Laden we will bomb every bridge, dam and road till they do. I believe that would have passed the Senate.
The Republicans (I’m not one) should be dropping support for Trump and hoping he goes into retirement.
I am expecting there will be a coup in Russia (assassination?) in the next few weeks and they will retreat. That will provide an opportunity to define international behaviour for eons. Our next problem will be China going after Formosa.
