It is ELECTION DAY.
If you know a swing voter, or a Democrat who is thinking of staying home, please give them the following civics lesson:
THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOLDS THE CHECKBOOK FOR THE ENTIRE NATION.
NOT the Senate.
NOT the President.
This means the House could STOP federal funding for any state that:
Refuses to ban abortion;
Refuses to ban books;
Refuses to ban education about race.
Or the House could refuse to help Ukraine defend itself.
You don’t think so?
Guess who ultimately decides whether they can?
THIS Supreme Court.
Drag your swing voter friend or Democrat out to vote. TODAY!
VOTE.
Please share widely!

At 10am, 10% of Stoneham had voted. The AM foot traffic was tremendous. People voting are smiling. Comparing the two rosters of candidates, let me conclude that Democrats have a lot to be happy about. Republican must be angry or embarassed. No Republican presence in front of Town Hall. Eight or so Democrat sign holders.

The constitutional requirement that tax-raising bills originate in the House is a bit of a sop to the idea that the chamber closest to the people raise taxes, but the Senate ultimately has as much say as for any other legislation.
