Shortly before a midnight vote to strip rights away from some of the most organized and educated middle class working families in the state, a prominent corporate lawyer announced a need for union leaders to “tone down the rhetoric”. With favored companies fleeing the state or shutting down despite giveaways of public money, wasted funds will soon be replaced by savings incurred from unilateral actions against workers in the state. This scion of multinational conglomerates — who recently opened his own federal-level PAC — affirmed that the “very important vote” taken in the dead of night before a protest expected the next day was a good thing. It demonstrated that lawmakers “are serious” about finding money for the budget.
Some might expect a Democratic governor of a Democratic state to be embarrassed about chiding union leaders over the use of such horrible profanities as “Wisconsin” a few hours before a very Wisconsin-like maneuver allowed lawmakers to dodge their own constituents and cover their own mistakes on the backs of working families. But those people don’t know Deval Patrick.

I assume the corporate lawyer you’re talking about is Deval Patrick, but I couldn’t get to the article.
