I’m deeply concerned about the House’s stripping of collective bargaining over some aspects of municipal health care plans. I’m also deeply concerned about labor’s dependence on legislative actions, be it here, in Wisconsin, or at the federal level and the disappearance of the Employee Free Choice Act from Democratic Party priorities. I am not currently a union member but I would do anything in my power to support labor actions to regain lost ground. Public demonstrations? Work stoppages? Non-violent civil disobedience? It’s time to reexamine those tactics.
