Sports break

October 7, 2013 By HeartlandDem

OM Head aches!   The Rays, who were never to be taken lightly, just plucked the chin hairs of the collective Red Sox line-up.  Buchholtz whose talent is unquestionable and usually – as in always, has a razor sharp focus – was shaken.  The amazing hit by Evan Longoria knocked the ball and the Red Sox momentum out of the park.  A Hail Mary Pass cannot even describe that miracle…..not that he hit it – he’s a slugger, but the timing to keep TB alive is still shocking.

Ouch, okay shake it off.   With the GOP killing our country in every way they can devise, we need the Sox and Pats now as much as ever!

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen worse fielding where an error was not charged than the Sox in the 8th. Basic stuff that usually gets worked out in spring training…

That’s the best thing about these Sox. They had the best records in the majors, I think, and still I didn’t hear anyone pick them to win.

The Pirates worry me; Cleveland would have for obvious karmic reasons; and the Dodgers do. But otherwise … if they can get past annoying Tampa …

I think Buchholz was affected by having to throw 30+ pitches in the 4th thanks to TWO Zobrist pop-up outs hitting the catwalks in that dump of a ballpark. The pitch to Longoria just a little too high. And that 8th inning. Not to mention only getting the one run in the 9th. And, finally, Koji breezing through the bottom of the 9th until giving up a homer to a guy who hit .209 the second half of the season.

I really want to close this out tonight. Words can’t express how much I dislike the Rays.

Tampa Bay has played what seems like a dozen straight elimination games from the last week of the regular season to the wild card to last night. They scare the bejesus out me. Get it over tonight!

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to catch much of the Sox this year, so I was excited to see the playoffs, even took an early bus home to catch it after work. I think their home crowd is a little anemic, so hopefully the Nation can come through.
