Anyone else experiencing technical issues with bluemassgroup?

I was getting error messages all of yesterday (Sat, 1/4), when trying to access bluemassgroup.com

      Tell me what other problems you have, aside from the site going down every few months. Curious to know.

        I don’t know what the current status is, but when I was last more active here a year or two ago, it was way more frequent than every few months. So if it’s every few months now that’s an improvement.

          Well we had a huge problem right around election time late 2016. The site was way outdated and we had to dredge it from the river, as it were. It’s been kinda ok since mid-2017 or so, with occasional outages.

    There seem to be continuing and occasional issues with the back-end of BMG. It isn’t clear from the outside whether those are related to WordPress, the hosting server, or both.

    Whenever you see something like “Error connecting to database”, that’s not on your end. I’ve never had to even clear a browser cache to make it go away. It generally means that WordPress program that runs BMG can’t access the database it uses for all the site storage.

    Yes, sorry everyone. We do have some continuing bugaboos on the site, and every once in a while I have to zap them. Do send me an email if I don’t address it in a timely fashion. charley at blue mass group.

      I did this most recent time, but then something occurred to me. If the site is down does that mean the @bluemassgroup.com email domain is also down?

        I strongly suspect the email works fine, they’re completely different systems.

      I’ll email you next time. I’ve noticed occasional issues in the past, but on Saturday I couldn’t access the site at all. Thanks for keeping things running!

        Have no idea why my two comments are in moderation, removed all second person references and the algorithm still has me beat. Granted, I was beating a dead horse so maybe it’s best they stay off the thread.

          Each of the two comments in the pending queue contain the nickname of Richard Cheney. That (“d__k”) is known to trigger the moderation filter.
