Kate plays an important role here on BMG, always available to answer questions about arcane Democratic Party processes. Many people rely on her Democratic Dispatch to keep them informed about Democratic events across the state.
I think that lolorb said it well when Kate was running for DSC last year.
Kate Donaghue does the work of ten people. She is one of the most committed Dems I’ve ever known. If she isn’t canvassing, she’s phone banking, and if she’s not doing either of those, she’s bound to be at some event or meeting talking to people about how to be more involved (or she’s in her car on her cell phone trying to figure out where she has to be next while working on her personal contact list). Kate even manages to insert political discussion into Pat game open threads. She’s a phenomenon (and a good friend to the grassroots and the party).
I know that Kate would be pleased if there were a BMG presence at the event honoring her work. She is always encouraging bloggers and others to get active and understands that getting together is one of the integral pieces of that process. I was amused by Lynne’s comments down thread . I think it speaks volumes about her.

Sue, thanks for your kind words. David, I appreciate you promoting Sue’s post and this event.

p>To make it easy for people, here are the details. I’m including this in a bit of shameless self promotion. There are a number of Democracy in Action awards that will go to Democrats from member towns. It would be great to have a good presence for the local activists, as well as supporting the work of the MW Dems. There’s also a facebook event, but I don’t have the link handy.

The MW Dems Awards Committee knows that when you choose an honoree, you try to get someone with a big family!
