What do you think? Real change — i.e., in my opinion, Medicare for all aka “public option” — or a Lucy/Charley Brown football moment in which yet another reform effort winds up putting money in the pockets of the insurance industry and our health care system stays more or less the same.

but wish there had been more clarification of the public option also. Americans are confused, they are getting filled with all sorts of misinformation from the media, especially faux news. Hearing from the President himself his hope for a public option would have helped a lot.

p>I was totally excited when he said he did not believe the majority of the 1/3 cost for this reform should be planted on the backs of the middle class. It seems that since we’re having this so called recovery, the struggles of the middle class have mysteriously disappeared. That is just not so. People are still losing their homes, struggling with loss of work and increase costs for basic needs. The middle class should certainly carry the burden of reasonable and expected (hopefully less expensive) health care costs.

p>I was happy to see them discuss the banking industry a little. I agree that if they don’t put in regulations, they will make the same mess again. These people want lots of money. They are ruthless enough to step on anyone to get it.

p>Similar to the insurance industry

p>Glad someone noticed. Amazing that it’s the President who is willing to talk about it. I hope he speaks out again soon. And I hope our elected officials can start making some tough decisions to make healthcare reform happen in a way that will succeed and grow to benefit our country over the years.

Changing 1/20th of the nations GDP needs thoughtful analysis and healthy debate. Obama is moving too fast and people are pushing back. Why would you want to rush something as importnat as healthcare? We cant even put up a few windmills without years of back and forth but healthcare can be done in a few months?
