The girls in Worcester County are squarely lined up with Martha Coakley and the boys are stumping for Mike Capuano…with a couple of exceptions (Sen. Eldridge with Coakley – Middlesex County)…and where’s Kate Donaghue lining up?

p>With Jim McGovern you get the left end and center of the party and Guy Glodis the right end of the party and independents…a very broad swath of voters.
Some people send out press releases when they endorse. I, on the other hand, have decided to make my endorsement here on BMG. It seems presumptuous of me to think that people care, but Heartland Dem, you asked!
<
p>I am endorsing Congressman Mike Capuano for U. S. Senate. I have put a lot of thought into this decision. Bottom line, I am supporting Congressman Capuano because I think he is the best person for the position.
<
p>I have been impressed with Mike’s passion. I believe that his years as a member of Congress have given Mike the experience he needs to get things done in Washington from day one. We know his record on issues on the national scene; he has voted against the Iraq war and against the PATRIOT Act and he has a long record of supporting the progressive agenda. On the very important issue of health care, he supports a public option.
<
p>I will say that Congressman Jim McGovern was influential in my endorsement. Congressman McGovern and I share values in a number of issues from human rights to the environment and other areas. And I trust his assessment of who will be effective in Washington, DC.
U.S. Rep James P. McGovern today endorsed his congressional colleague Michael Capuano for U.S. Senate.
The endorsement was one of many that came today from public officeholders including Worcester County Sheriff Guy Glodis, state Senator Richard Moore and state Reps. Jennifer M. Callahan, James O’Day, Geraldo Alicea and Robert Spellane.
<
p>You just know that Spellane endorsement is gonna swing this thing!
Glodis has built quite the operation over the years. What he can do for Capuano is GOTV throughout the county.

was due any day as he had Capuano with him at his annual breakfast in Worcester on September 20.
<
p>The Glodis thing is no surprise, either, although one might intuitively think he’d go for the law-and-order type. Not so much. Our Guy’s a guy’s guy.
<
p>The Glodis mobilization meme is blown out of proportion, too. The Glodis people were supposed to turn out bazillions of people for Tom Reilly, remember? Oh yeah. They can be slightly more effective on the local level, but not so much at the state level.
Glodis was the most prominent Democrat to (sorta) endorse Ed O’Reilly last year…politics as usual?

Then it would follow that Guy would’ve endorsed Coakley the law and order candidate who was ahead in the early polls and the democrat establishment candidate.

To his own beat. That is a large measure of his popularity. Not to mention helping out old friends.

Ran for US Senate last year. are you voting for Joe kennedy? Sorry, it slipped out.

Are considered rivals in the unofficial Worcester County kingmaker competition. Guy beat out Jimmy in the Second Worcester Senate seat with Mike Moore. For governor, Jimmy was one of the first to push Deval, while Guy was stuck with plowhorse Reilly. Could the balance of democratic power be shifting a bit westwa/rd

McGovern was neutral in the primary and endorsed Moore in the general.
