As it turns out, I was able to attend and also bring my three teenagers to see Mike Dukakis endorse Mike Capuano. The brief NECN report is here. I was glad to see Kate, stomv, and several of my other friends at the event. I took the opportunity to shamelessly plug BMG as the place for informed political discussion. Fred Salvucci and Jim O’Leary were also present, as was Lois Pines and (of course) Kitty Dukakis.
I was thrilled to be able to give my children this chance to participate in “the real thing.” They were particularly excited that they were able to greet and shake hands with Mike Dukakis.
Speaking of my children, the long-haired young man in the plaid shirt with his back to the camera — center foreground — is one of my sons. I expect clips from this will be capped and tagged throughout facebook by this time tomorrow. I’m glad to see that he’s already learned how to get himself into the shot.
I would have loved to be there, but couldn’t be. Is there some video clip of Mike Dukakis’s speech? (As someone who worked hard for him way back when, I want to make sure he’s living up to what I worked for…)
