Via the Globe. Vicki Kennedy will declare her backing for Coakley on Thursday at a senior citizens center in Medford. The Globe is also reporting that Joe Kennedy and Paul Kirk will also be at there at the endorsement.
Vicki wrote an OpEd last month in the Washington Post saying that health reform will finish the work of Ted’s life.
My late husband, Ted Kennedy, was passionate about health-care reform. It was the cause of his life. He believed that health care for all our citizens was a fundamental right, not a privilege, and that this year the stars — and competing interests — were finally aligned to allow our nation to move forward with fundamental reform.
Those who are against reforming health care and reducing costs, well you know, he’s got a guy who can throw a baseball wicked fast for an endorsement. Wow.

I got an email from her tonight plugging the EMK Institute for the US Senate. Looks like an interesting endeavour.

If she was going to endorse Brown or the “non” Kennedy, that would be news.

p>Sounds like good strategy to me.

that worked out pretty well, seems that they are following the same playbook.

p>Joe Kennedy and Paul Kirk will also be endorsing Coakley tomorrow.

in that it’s fairly close to the election when people are paying somewhat more attention, but far enough away that Coakley can now develop and run ads referencing the Kennedy endorsements.
peter-porcupine says
Will the new ads be in front of a bay window with green leaves?
david says
If the Mass. GOP ever wants advice on how to win elections, send ’em on over to BMG! đŸ˜‰
mr-lynne says
Avoid the BMG endorsement curse!

…it’s earned media. Coakley will get at least one news cycle worth of her candidacy being mentioned in the same sentence as the name Kennedy.
