Progressives Boycott Fox News Advertisers

December 16, 2004 By Bob Neer

The group continued:

"STEP #1: SHOP SMART! SPEND LIBERALLY!

Don’t shop at stores which support the right-wing Fox News Channel.Stores to avoid include: Walmart, Sam’s Club, Target, Best Buy, CircuitCity, Home Depot, True Value Hardware, and Sharper Image. Do yourone-stop shopping at Costco instead! Did you know that 98% ofcontributions from Costco employees / executives / affiliates went to Democrats? That added up to almost $200,000 in the 2004 cycle. Contrastthat with Walmart, which gave over $1.5 million (81%) to Repubs.

STEP #2: BE SELECTIVE! SPEND LIBERALLY!

Don’t buy these specific products from Fox News Channel’s mostfrequent sponsors: Dell, Gateway, and IBM Computers. Buy computers andelectronic goods made by Sony instead! Did you know that SonyCorporation of America sent 69% of its contributions to Democrats? Thatamounted to almost $300,000 in the 2004 cycle. Contrast that with DellComputers, which gave almost $300,000 (79%) to Repubs in 2004. Andcheck in at www.spendingliberally.com for the latest! This website provides updates about the top 20 Fox News Channel advertisers.

STEP #3: CHOOSE THE BLUE FOR A DEMOCRATIC VICTORY!

Visit www.ChooseTheBlue.comfor extensive information about the political contributions made byemployees / executives / affiliates of almost every American companyunder the sun! "Blue" companies contribute 51% or more to Democrats, while "red" companies funnel 51% or more of their funds to Repubs.Whenever you choose the blue, you’ll help build a Democratic future ofliberty, equality, and justice for all. And, even though nobody can beexpected to buy 100% blue, every little bit certainly helps!""

A problem with this is that Fox News donated 61% of its political money to Democrats…look under Entertainment and News > Television Networks.
