The Charlotte Observer reports that Willard’s Commonwealth PAC recently gave $2,000 to South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint and $1,000 to Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C. DeMint favors eliminating the IRS and Federal income tax. When he was in the House of Representatives he sponsored a bill that would replace the current system with a 23% national sales tax on all goods and services, according to Wikipedia. DeMint has said that openly gay people and single mothers who live with their boyfriends should should not be allowed to teach in public schools. He favors banning all forms of abortion.
