Mihos website is live

February 15, 2006 By David 10 Comments

The "Christy Mihos for Governor" website is live: www.christy2006.com.  There's not much up there yet - just a long-winded message from Mihos spouting generalities about why he's running - but he does promise to post some of the "many … [Read more...]

Middlesex DA: some Festa backers moving to Leone

February 14, 2006 By David 12 Comments

Governor Gabrielli

February 14, 2006 By silence_dogood Leave a Comment

So Chris Gabrielli thinks its a good time to enter into the race for govenor.  This is foreseeable from Galvin or perhaps Lynch, but I guess getting snubbed by Reilly got to him.I don't doubt that, like Deval, Gabrielli has the bucks … [Read more...]

Gabrieli thinking about running for Governor?

February 14, 2006 By David 17 Comments

Jilted by Tom Reilly at the proverbial altar, Chris Gabrieli may now be considering setting up his own wedding chapel.  (Hey, it's late - if you can come up with a better metaphor, go for it!)Anyway, the Herald is reporting that … [Read more...]

Woodlief: Patrick the current favorite to win Governor’s race

February 12, 2006 By David 13 Comments

In a somewhat surprising move, the Herald's astute political columnist Wayne Woodlief has given Deval Patrick the early edge to win both the Democratic primary and the general election.  From Woodlief's column (reg. req'd):So here are … [Read more...]

Healey’s kickoff speech

February 8, 2006 By David 9 Comments

Adam Reilly has helpfully posted the full text of Kerry Healey's speech at the official kickoff for her campaign for Governor. My take: nicely packaged Republican rubbish.  It's an excellent example of the fallacy that Republicans have … [Read more...]

Non-story of the week

February 8, 2006 By David 11 Comments

Yesterday's Globe brought us this ridiculous story that is apparently supposed to call into question Deval Patrick's finances.  According to the story, the Atlanta bank holding a mortgage on the Patricks' Milton home delayed filing the … [Read more...]

A double-dog dare:

February 6, 2006 By Charley on the MTA 24 Comments

For all the giddy Deval Patrick enthusiasts out there, here's a press clipping to pin on the locker room bulletin board, as it were:Reilly supporters say the results were not surprising. The caucuses tend to attract more liberal activists, … [Read more...]

Numbers were meant to be manipulated…

February 6, 2006 By silence_dogood 4 Comments

With Patrick having done as well as he did Reilly's numbers just are not there.  Perhaps it is my inability to do fuzzy math but I think that Reilly is under his 15%That would be a real revolution.  The democrat front-runner, … [Read more...]

Ride home tonight via an inland route, with a stop @sweetgreen. The improvements to cycling infrastructure on Tremont and around the Boston Common and Public Garden vs. what was there a year ago are incredible. Bravo to @BostonBTD + groups like @bostonbikeunion! (1 of 2) #bospoli

When Scott Brown won in January 2010, Alan Khazei told us, “you can’t read too much into it. It’s a special election!”

Bad result but good to keep in mind.

Looks like JEFF TURCO wins the race to replace former House Speaker Robert DeLeo in the 19th Suffolk District. JUAN PABLO JARAMILLO comes in second by just under 300 votes.

Yikes.

Adam Bass@AdamBassWCCS

The idea of a Pro Life Trump supporter winning Suffolk 19 is not out of the ordinary. Winthrop is particular is much more right leaning that Revere. And Revere got severely out voted. When Capobianco had his story, that left you with two progressives. #mapoli

.@CDCgov dir. @RWalensky, once part of MA's #COVID19 advsy board, said

"Now is not the time to relax the critical safeguards that we know can stop the spread of COVID-19 ... not when we are so close."

But @MassGovernor pushes to reopen.

Who is advising Gov. Baker now?
