You got that right, Jean – you’ll need to see a lot more. We’ve been looking at this guy for over a decade since he ran against Ted Kennedy, and we still have no idea.
Not really – a more accurate characterization is that they’ve lurched right over the last few months. When Romney ran for Governor, and even for a while thereafter, any reasonable person listening to what he said would have pegged him for a Weld-ish fiscal conservative/social moderate type. Not anymore – that don’t sell in South Carolina.

This is from Vennochi’s column, which is also well worth a read – I found it to be a pretty good summing-up of where the state party finds itself at this moment.
