Christy Mihos will not challenge Kerry Healey for the Republican nomination — he’s organized a committee as an independent. So says a press release from the MassDems… I’ll try to find press or OCPF confirmation.
UPDATE: A clarification is in order: AP reports that Mihos has until March 7 to declare a party affiliation (or none). He said on Greater Boston the other night that he would not run as a Democrat (hah).
Frankly I can’t imagine what he has to gain running in a primary against Kash n’ Kerry Healey. His best shot is in a three-way fight, and hope he comes out as the dog with the slobbery tennis ball.
Please share widely!

…is Kerry Healey quietly whimpering. There’s no way she wins a three-way race unless Mihos curses out Natalie Jacobson.

… according to the label entered on the OCPF web site.

Yet another Republican insider pretending to be a reformer. Hopefully the voters of Massachusetts won’t fall for this one again.

I’m not sure this information is trustworthy. Further down the page, William A. White is listed as an “Unaffiliated” candidate for the 2nd Middlesex Senate district, but he is definitely a Republican and ran as a Republican.

The success of the Republicans for Governor since Weld has been to capture the independents.Healey would rather go head to head with Mihos in the primary rather than in the general election.

He runs as a fake reformer and tough-talking independent, spends the whole campaign attacking the Democrat and ignoring Kerry Healey, she’ll get like 14% of the vote and he’ll have a good chance of winning against Reilly because he can draw Democrats that Healey never will.
