First Scott Pelley’s terrific work at 60 Minutes, letting NASA scientist Jim Hansen speak freely, finally; now Time Magazine says on the cover: “Global Warming: Be Worried. Be Very Worried”. (You’ll have to look at an ad. You’ll live.)

I get my Time second hand about a week late, so I haven’t read the article – perhaps it talks about our dwindling food supply.

I know of 4 farmers who worried about their crops last year – that they harvested much less of poorer quality than usual because of the weather – This year the banana and sugar cane growers in Australia have said it will take them between 1 and 1 1/2 years to recover from their hurricane ( called a cyclone over there).

perhaps we in New England can all plant victory gardens, learn how to use cold frames and hydroponics in limited spaces… and feed ourselves even as we can’t predict what the weather will be.
