Here’s my idea:
I want something that anyone from Swampscott can participate in, so we can get news from all corners of the town. There are things I know about the town that a 64 year old wouldn’t, there are things a 17 year old would know that I don’t.
While I want the blog to cover news, I also want it to focus on ideas that will help our town. Let’s face it, despite Swampscott’s wealth, we’re limited by our 3.2 mile borders and the fact that we have almost no commercial base. The burden is on our residents to cover the expensive costs of schools and town services. Intelligent planning may be able to help lessen that burden and those are the kind of ideas I’m hoping to attract.
If anyone is interested in this project and has an interest in Swampscott or the general area (because what happens in Marblehead, Lynn, Salem and Peabody can be important to us too) let me know.
